In 1998, the company achieved accreditation to ISO9002:1994, BS7499 and BS7858 and in the following year, applied for and succeeded in obtaining membership of International Professional Security Association.
In 1999, we formed our Special Events Division, supplying Safety Stewards and Corporate Hospitality for major events. In 2000, we introduced a service of CCTV installation and monitoring from a 24-hour Control Room in our new purpose built Operations Centre at Team Valley. In 2003 the Company achieved certification to ISO9001:2000 and has now implemented this system in compliance with ISO14001:1996, OHSAS18001:1999 and the NACOSS Scheme for Installers.
The Company offers a complete security package to clients. We are members of the British Security Industry Association, NSI Gold Award Members and the SSAIB, and are registered as an approved contractor under the Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Scheme. The Protector Group Limited is dedicated to providing a service to our customers which ensures that they are provided with the best possible product and service, whilst endeavouring to avoid harm to the environment, our employees, visitors and all others who may be affected directly or indirectly by our activities.
The company is an NSI Gold Installer and therefore all employees are committed to meeting the regulatory, legal and environmental expectations of the industry that have been agreed by insurers, police, professional institutions and relevant Trade Associations. In particular we shall:
- seek to establish and maintain an Integrated Management System (MS)
- seek to ensure compliance with existing and future environmental, and health and safety legislation and any other initiatives or requirements to which the company subscribes
- liaise with all relevant external bodies and work with our own staff to improve our quality, environmental and health and safety performance, prevent accidents and cases of work related ill health and maintain safe and healthy working conditions
- identify and seek to reduce significant environmental effects, health and safety risks, and pollution which may arise from our processes, operations and work activities
- provide and maintain safe plant and equipment
- minimise, re-use and recycle all materials wherever practicable
- provide appropriate quality, environmental, and health and safety information and training for our staff, and encourage them to apply good practice, both at work and at home
- discuss quality, environmental, and health and safety issues regularly at the highest levels of the company and consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety
- liaise with suppliers and customers to facilitate the best possible products, safety, and environmental practices and to promote recycling
- to review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals.
Sound management principles and practices shall be applied to meet these commitments, and to achieve demanding and publicly available performance objectives. We shall set those objectives annually; wherever practicable, they shall be quantitative and we shall monitor our progress towards meeting them.
The company has developed and implemented a quality management system that meets the requirements of the International Standards ISO 9001:2000, ISO14001:1996, OHSAS18001:1999 and the NSI Quality Schedule SSQS101.5 The Design, Planning, Installation and Maintenance of Electronic Security Systems, giving confidence not only that installations meet the requirements of the contract and specifications but that our business is committed to continual improvements.
